What is Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence is a skill that revolves around awareness of how emotions in us and others affect behaviour.  To lead and be effective, we must also possess the skills to navigate and regulate these emotions.  Through this mastery, we can effectively leverage our unique strengths to inspire positive outcomes in the performance of those with whom we engage, drive innovation in development, and successfully tackle complex challenges.

What is Emotional Capital

RocheMartin has been at the forefront of emotional intelligence research and has identified 10 components of emotional intelligence that are empirically linked to the specific behaviours of successful leaders.

The collective value of these components in creating strong relationships and influencing others towards positive outcomes, is what RocheMartin calls Emotional Capital.

The great news is that you can strengthen each of these 10 components, with some work.   The 10 components are clustered into 3 groups as follows:

Inner Focus:     Self-Knowing, Self-Confidence, Self-Control, and Self Reliance

Other Focus:     Relationship Skills, Empathy and Straightforwardness

Outer Focus:     Adaptability, Optimism and Self-Actualization

What is the Emotional Capital Report

The RocheMartin Emotional Capital Report is the world’s most scientifically advanced psychometric for measuring your levels of competency in behaviours associated with emotional intelligence and comparing them with professionals, globally.

With the Emotional Capital Report 360, in addition to you completing the psychometric, a number of other people such as: a manager, peers, direct reports, and family/friends also rate you, anonymously.  This gives rich data to assess your areas of strength and areas on which you might choose to work.

Using RocheMartin’s Transformational Assessment, you explore the results of your psychometric with a certified coach practitioner.  The practitioner engages with you in a positive way, exploring your results with you, working with you on bringing meaning to them, and engaging with you on an action plan for development.
